PRP – PLATELET-RICH PLASMA
PRP is produced from your blood. It is a concentration of platelets, which circulate through your blood and are critical for blood clotting. Platelets and the liquid plasma portion of the blood contain many factors that are essential for cell recruitment, multiplication, and specialization.
Microneedling PRP facial
-
- Microneedling with platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is a cosmetic procedure used to minimize signs of aging. Your blood is drawn and then spun down in a centrifuge to separate the platelets from the red blood cells. The PRP is applied to a small section of your face and microneedling device is used to create multiple micropunctures. This drives growth factors from the PRP into the skin as well as stimulates collagen production. The skin tightens and glows. Offered in our studio as well as in the comfort of your own home.
- Microneedling is used to treat:
- Acne scars
- Surgical scars
- Wrinkles and fine lines
- Hyperpigmentation
- Sun damage
- Large pores
- Uneven skin textures
- 3 sessions performed 30 days apart
- Results last 6 months
- Sessions typically 45-60 minutes
- $600/session or $1500/3 sessions
Hair PRP
-
-
- Blood is drawn and placed in a centrifuge to separate the platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, from the red blood cells. That PRP is then injected into the scalp where there is thinning hair. The PRP triggers natural hair growth by increasing the blood flow to the hair follicle. Offered in our studio as well as in the comfort of your own home.
- Requires monthly treatments for 6 – 8 months; hair regeneration in 9 months.
- Sessions typically 45 minutes.
- $500/session or $2500 / 6 sessions

PRF – PLATELET-RICH FIBRIN TREATMENTS
Platelet-Rich Fibrin is one of the most natural ways to induce collagen. You can use PRF in either an injection or with microneedling. Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is second-generation PRP platelets, and leukocytes are present to accelerate the healing of soft and hard tissue.
Platelet-Rich Fibrin
- PRP combined with a small amount of calcium to create fibrin
- Larger number of growth factors for longer period of time
- Great for undereye concerns such as hollowness and dark circles
- 3 sessions completed 30 days apart
- $300/session or $750/3 sessions
- Session typically 30 minutes

frequently asked questions
What is Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
Platelet-Rich Plasma, or “Liquid Gold” as we like to call it, is the perfect solution to stimulate cell growth within the body. The patient’s blood is drawn, processed, and then used for treatment. The amazing benefits of PRP can be used to stimulate hair growth, diminish the appearance of scarring, encourage the body’s production of collagen, and much more.
How does PRP work?
Plasma is a component of our blood and contains proteins which help the blood to clot and support cell growth. Platelets are found within the blood and are responsible for recognizing and repairing damaged cells by forming a plug, or clot. PRP Treatments use the body’s own healing processes to rejuvenate the skin and promote new cell growth.
During treatment, a member of our experienced and trained staff will draw blood from your arm. The small vial of blood will be placed and spun in a centrifuge to separate the red blood cells from the plasma. This process concentrates the platelet count to about 4x the normal amount. The platelet-rich plasma is then applied topically or injected into the skin for treatment. PRP has been shown to help fade darkness under eyes, provide natural facial volume restoration, and even help with hair loss when injected in to the scalp.
What is Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF)
Blurred Lines Beauty uses your platelet-rich plasma in combination with a minute amount of calcium to create a fibrin clot. This allows for the PRP to stay in the area longer and stimulate collagen for a longer period of time.
In Cosmetic surgery, PRF is used to accelerate the wound healing process and reduces scarring. In Aesthetics, PRF is used to treat alone or in combination with collagen induction therapy to treat:
- Hair loss
- Dark circles
- Acne scarring
- Wrinkles and fine lines
- Tear troughs and deep folds
- Brown spots (face, neck, décolleté)
- Volume loss and symmetry adjustment
Pre-care Instructions and Relative Contraindications:
This treatment is highly dependable on the level of hydration of the patient (patients need to start the hydration process 72 hours before treatment). Patients who smoke may have less response to this treatment.
PRF is effective in most cases; no guarantees can be made that a specific patient will benefit from this procedure which is why a consultation is so important. Additionally, the nature of cosmetic procedures may require a patient to return for numerous visits in order to achieve the desired results or to determine whether PRF may not be completely effective at treating the particular condition. The average patient needs about 3-4 treatment sessions separated by 4-6 weeks and the final result won’t be readily visible for 4-9 months.
Treatment Breakdown:
- You may take pain medication such as Tylenol.
- A numbing cream is applied to the area of treatment.
- Approximately 4-52ml of whole blood is drawn from your arm.
- The tubes of blood are centrifuged to separate the component cells.
- Platelets, Leukocytes and Mesenchymal stem cells are separated and used for this procedure.
- The liquid is then transferred into a syringe and injected using a tiny needle.
How much does a PRP/PRF Treatment cost?
PRP/PRF Treatments vary on price. However, to achieve optimal results, you will need a series of 3-4 treatments. See our PRP/PRF page for more info.
How long do results last?
Results from PRP/PRF Treatments are expected to be long-lasting, though results may vary from person to person.
When will I see results?
Noticeable results are visible within 4-9 months.
How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments varies from person to person, but on average, we recommend 3-4 treatment sessions separated by 4-6 weeks then 1-2 treatments per year for maintenance.
Will I need time to recover?
For injections, bruising and swelling is possible, plan 2 weeks ahead of any events/vacations.
For microneedling with PRP/PRF, recovery lasts from 1-2 days with reddened skin, no peeling.
Microneedling frequently asked questions
Is microneedling safe?

How many treatments will I need?
Each client is unique, and this will be discussed at your consultation. Typically, 3 initial sessions are recommended and then maintenance sessions to follow.
Does it hurt?
A local anesthetic is applied to the entire face prior to the microneedling so there is minimal pain.
How long does it last?
After the initial treatments, microneedling will typically last 6 months.
How much does it cost?
The cost will vary per person. This will be discussed at your consultation. Packages are offered.
